Scott: Sorry for taking so long to reply... if you are still looking for an answer, yes, there is a way to reset the synth back to factory presets. If you have additional questions, please post your question to the Yahoo! Group.

The instructions to reset to factory presets are in this message: http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/korg01w-list/message/6074

Excerpt:How to Re-Load All Combi/Prog/Kit Factory Settings
(from page 126 of the Percussion Manual
<http://net.indra.com/~cliffcan/korg.htm> )
The steps below will re-install the factory settings. Note you can
re-load these settings at any time without re-initializing the entire
01/W <http://net.indra.com/~cliffcan/01faq.htm#How to Re-initialize Your
01/W> .

to enter Global Mode. 2 Press "7" to go to Page 7. 3 Select "Load
Combi/Prog" (on the top line). 4 Press G or H to execute the "LOAD"
command.

G or H means "no". 6 Push E or F. The message "Completed" should
appear.
Your 01 should now be as it came from the factory.

Chinhdo,

Hi. Long time no see. I recently re-kindled interest in my 01/W Pro and bought an 01R/W as a safety net in case the keyboard blows up.

My ROM versions are not the final version, #62. I looked around on the downloads section and couldn't find a binary dump of the ROMs. If I remember right, a long time ago someone actually posted them to the group. Do you recall any of this?

Further, Ken Westover's page says that he thinks that your site here might have the dumps:
Where to get EPROM Data
EPROM data may be available at http://www.vienxu.com/korg0 . File names for ROM #62 are reported to be 912162 and 912262, each 754,701 bytes big.

Maybe they had to be taken off of public display for some reason. If you've got a copy, could you kindly send it along? I would surely appreciate it.

Thanks,
Ed²

Getting the low battery sign on my 01R/W after at least 43 14 years and wondered how to go about getting a new
battery with the assumption that I can do it myself.

Also wondered if anyone knows if all the factory presets
will still be on the machine when I put a new batter in.

And if now, where would I get the presets? Korg?

Thanks in advance for your advise.

Warning, I think the 01w_movie is corrupted. I am getting ERROR: Exclusive Dump on the 01w_movie syx file.. :( The general MIDI syx files work okay, so I know that my setup is okay. Thanks for all the free sounds!!
